What percentage get repaired

Does anyone know what percentage of people with chips on their windshield get them repaired?

I've done my own local, limited survey and it seems that there is a high percentage of people with damage that never have repairs done.

this is true some people don't have the money or know that we can charge their insurance companys and the repair is free to them. some people drive their cars with out washing them, some people just don't care about their cars! not sure what percentage but I notice them alot!

I would have to agree. Most people do not know how critical the windshield is for their safety. They do not attach a sense of urgency to a crack or stone chip due to this lack of understanding. As WSR specialists we must educate and continue educating. The more we can get WSR in the public eye the more this will change.

I do not think you could get an accurate percentage of this group. You might be able to get a percentage of people who had windshield damage that had replacements vs. repair if you can get the insurance company to divulge this information. I would bet my last dollar they have statistics like that for tracking purposes.
