Re: Dealerships-new software job dispatch system
WSR represents such an insignificant percentage of the average car dealer's budget that the average annual expenditure on WSR could almost in most cases be considered a rounding error. It costs almost $20 to process an invoice (at least that's what I was told). If the average price of a WSR for car dealers is say, $30 and the bookeeping costs $20 there is little incentive to add another layer of accounting folderol (Laborgate or equivqalent) to the mix. Consequently as applied to WSR, Laborgate would probably not be cost-effective. For vendor-supplied services that significantly exceed the cost of accounting/bookeeping, it might be worth a look, particularily for dealer groups (multiple franchises under one name) that would employ a vendor multiple times across multiple locations.

Thanks , but, I was trying to find vendors in WS repair who might be using the system and how they navigate it and get work , as all work is generated electronically and dispatched via text and email . there has been very few times a lot manager has found work (ws repairs) for me.puka pau wrote:WSR represents such an insignificant percentage of the average car dealer's budget that the average annual expenditure on WSR could almost in most cases be considered a rounding error. Used car managers (or detail managers) typically don't walk the lot looking for WSR, paint touchup, dents, upholstery repairs etc etc etc. That's the vendor's job. In the used car biz if you want the job you have to show up for work. Laborgate isn't going to help you with that. Show up at the lot at least once a week, survey the inventory, make a list of damage, get approval from the manager, do the work, present an invoice, get paid. That's how it works.

Re: Dealerships-new software job dispatch system
Laborgate appears to be a labor/vendor/workorder management system that is used to delegate and manage work/order flow. Management buys and operates the software. Vendors sign up with management to be included on a roster. In order for this protocol to work with the used car department, the responsibility falls to management (used car/detail managers) to identify a potential job and contact a vendor to do the work. To answer your question directly, no, I haven't used Laborgate because none of my car or fleet accounts use Laborgate for detail vendors - probably for the reasons I listed in this and previous posts. Never say never, but if I were a used car sales manager (heaven forbid) I wouldn't see the value in having to personally spend my somewhat valuable time and money inspecting each new inventory item for potential multiple detail vendor work when I can get the vendor(s) to do that gratis. Would you? In theory, insurance agents might see value in Laborgate or a car dealer service department might use it to select a vendor if a customer requests a service (such as WSR, headlight restoration, dent repair, paint touch-up etc) that the service department would not be able to accomodate in-house, but I wouldn't expect it to be a benefit to the used car sales department. Frankly, I'd really prefer to identify the damage myself for the simple reason that about 99 out of 100 times a car account calls me to repair a customer's vehicle or an inventory car that I haven't surveyed it turns out to be a bug splat or previously repaired damage by others. Sales managers get paid for working deals rather than finding work for vendors. The more deals they close, the more new inventory they buy and the more potential work there is for me.

C'mon, Sunshine, you can share with us! We're all friends here! So spill the beans, eh? Don't be like the rest of those who pose inscrutable problems and then refuse to pony up when others ask the tough questions. Or maybe you're just another poser.
