A big THANK YOU to Safelite!

Love their ad campaign promoting windshield repair! My business increases every time they run their ads! I hope they just keep those ads rolling!

clearquest,

Happy to hear the ads are promoting business in your area but in mine it hasn't. They unfortunately are our largest insurance TPA administrators here and give up nothing. Safelite may be your friend today but don't count on them in the future. Enjoy what you get now because it will one day change.

They are the largest here too but I aint skeered! So what? They r simply competition. Run your business in a way to compete and get your share. It ain't gonna change so go get your share. Even my referals from safelite have increased since they started another ad campaign. Put on your big boy pants and go to work. It's really that simple.

clearquest,

Been doing this for 20 years. Just because you get decent work in your area doesn't mean others are doing as well in other areas. Safelite/Belron is not your friend, believe me. Just ask Screenman! Lost 28 Budget truck accounts to them in "06" and all my AAA insurance work in "07". Prior to them taking over AAA from Harmon I was averaging 25-35 repairs weekly. After Safelite became the TPA for AAA all referrals stopped in my area. The only jobs referred have been 35 miles plus.

As far as your big boy pants comment...grow up son! (it wasn't necessary)

I'm not a newbie by any means. You have me beat by a few years. I never called them my friend. They are my competition but I've managed to keep my business rolling along just fine no matter what they do. We all have been impacted by their competition. We all are faced with numerous things that cut into our business and make us work harder, including the economy. Some people find ways to keep their business ahead of all those factors. Some can't get past it. The big boy pants comment wasn't directed at you so I'm sorry you assumed it was. It was directed at those who dwell on Safelites stronghold on the industry. No matter what they do, you still have to get up and put those pants on and go to work and make your business better.

Sorry if I sent sparks but I do appreciate your opinions. I'm currently operating 3 different businesses and repair at this time is at the bottom of my list. I guess that's why the "big pants statement" bothered me. No harm and no foul. Not liking Safelite...is my personal opinion. I'll regress from mentioning them again. Anyways, have a great weekend!

I see the ads in my area also on the satelite channels. I've got a few calls for a repair as a result of those ads and also did a few jobs for them as well. They supply windshields for some of the shops here, but they dont like to do repairs in my area. Iam only taking the jobs that are within 15 miles. Its taking 3-5 weeks to get my money put into my account and they charge me $7.50 for the referral. I figure any referrals I get is just extra. #1 question when I talk to the vehicle owner is this. When you finish it will look like new and I wont see the repair like the ad. I carry the NWRA brochure and I have them read it and explain skeletons to them. Some of my repairs they cant find and others have a faint skeleton that you can see from the inside. Their ads started several weeks ago heavy here on satelte.
