researching WSR
Hi everyone my name is Mike. I'm serriously looking into the WSR buisness semi part time to start. I came across WSR while looking up something else on google, and started reading about it. I've done some research on kits (mostly forums), and find Delta seems to be the most user friendly of the bunch (quality, service, and finish). Having pride in my work has always been on top of my list along with customer sastisfaction, But I'm lacking in public relations, and marketing. I've been reading all the previous post here and feel I've learned quite alot about the whole process. My questions are, does anyone know what the market is like in Las Vegas? Any problems with the 110 degree heat in the summer? and has anyone used Scott Tyner's WINDSHIELD REPAIR SUCCESS SYSTEM? if so has it helped?

Re: researching WSR
Mike,
We have a number of good customers in Vegas who do a ton of repairs so I would not be concerned the weather. Obviously there are a few precautions that you must take in hot weather, but 8 months out of the year Vegas has a fantastic climate for glass repair and the rest of the time the heat is a minor inconvenience.
I have Scott Tyner's Windshield Repair Success System but because I have sold it to others I can't claim to be unbiased. I'll have to leave that one to others to answer.

You don't need Scott Tyners stuff. Everything you need to know can be found in this forum if you search for it!

Re: researching WSR
There are many windshield repair systems and guides out there. Only you know if you are the type of person who needs to follow a system more along the lines of a detailed guideline approach in setting up your business and sticking to the plan. For some, that is the only way to succeed. I fall somewhere in the middle. I am pretty self-driven but I appreciate having a loose guideline to follow. It can be really helpful, especially when first setting up a new business. Sure you can get most of the information on this forum, but if having it all consolidated in one place so you can refer to it at any time, (e.g., like in a book format) makes more sense to you, than there are more than just a few to chose from.

Thanks for the reply's. I do feel I need a good set of marketing guidelines to start, as I don't have much experience in that field. I came across this post today Building Your Retail Windshield Repair Business even though its 6 yrs old it has a lot of straight forward info in it, and I'm sure it still works. I feel more is better as long as I can separate whats good and bad in my area without to much trial and error. Like you said there's a lot of information out there, Way too much. So trying to separate it all is difficult.

There is a ton of great info here in the forum.
One of the best ways to take advantage of what is here, is to ask SPECIFIC questions when you have them. There are so many knowledgeable folks here who have experience from years of doing what works and what doesn't work. No need to re-invent the wheel! IT IS HARD TO SEARCH AROUND SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY POSTS!
Another idea is to Google "windshield repair marketing" and follow some of those leads. There are a few great sources, books, articles and reports out there for starting and marketing a successful windshield repair business. Look around!
Good Luck and Happy Chippin!
PS Don't be afraid to ASK lots of questions!
