06 mercedes cls 500
Re: 06 mercedes cls 500
If it's a coupe it's standard M-B pull the sides and top outer mlds and the inner a pillars. Rain sensor is under the plastic housing under the mirror. Get a glass with the correct rain sensor on it(dealer or PPG).
If it's a convertible you are in for a rare treat. This is a very involved install.
We just did one of these. You have to pull the entire inner upper and sides to get to the electrics at the inner bottom sides of the glass. Put the top down, pull sun visors and clips, pull plastic under mirror, the upper portion of the interior trim is clipped to the lower part remove this first. There are screws under this that hold the piece that fits above the mirror. After you remove the screws the part unclips also to reveal all of the electrics. Pull mirror and rest of interior and sides. The outer upper molding is held on with friction clips. These clips are 2 1/2" wide and grip the mld at the front and back. The front part usually pops out but the back will flex and not want to release. We had to loosen the upper seal across the top and take the screws out of the retainer to gain access to get a hook in to release the back of the mld.
Remember how every thing came apart, take your time and charge a bunch for the job. Also very awkward removing and reinstalling electrics at bottom sides you need a thin pick to do this. HTH
