visited DELTA KITS office today here\'s what i think !

Hello everybody!
as some of you know i have been hunting the lands far and wide to find some quality tools and support for the w.r.b.
Some might say "how would he know quality, he isnt a tech"(YET)
Well i want to get into the biz so i began my search. I know quality when i see it. And believe me you can spot junk when you see it also!
After searching the web for weeks, i found a few companies that enterested me. the companies that didnt werent all bad! some were just not very appealing to me. ( tool design,tech support,and knowledge of the industry,and most of all quality)
these areas were a must for me to feel comfortable with spending
any money with them. Not to mention putting my reputation on the line with there products.(RESINS)
I visited U.S. WINDSHIELD REPAIR in person in Orange Ca. I was very impressed. Bill was very helpful and knowledgable in the industry. His tools were quite impressive. As well as his training and tech support, i got to witness as i was there. The cool thing was there were no games. it is what it is. No bogus promises or pipe dreams to swim through!
after i left his office i hopped a plane back home.
Upon returning home i had the DELTA KITS info in my mail box.
I went to DELTA KITS home office in Eugene Oregon. I was to arrive at 11:15. I actually showed up at 11:30. they were expecting us. I was introduced to Jeff and Brent and the crew.
they were all very nice people. They showed me the equipment and there facility. Jeff i believe has not been in the trade long,
but he was very eager to show me what they offered. He also took the time to show me in detail all the parts and pieces and how they worked! VERY IMPRESSIVE. I was impressed with the design of the tools.
It was like murphy's law though. I "the client" had shown up and the demo kit was not set up, nor was the area in witch we were doing the demo. It was like they had to hunt for this or that.
YOUR PROBABLY THINKING, here is where i let them have it !

they were real people. It wasnt staged. They set up for the demo
and showed me a couple of repairs,including a crack repair. The repairs seemed to take a long time to complete,but when the repair was complete it was quality. The people at DELTA were very helpful. Although we had a small snag or two. "DELTA KITS" IS A REAL GOOD COMPANY WITH QUALITY BEING A FIRST PRIORITY.
If you are looking for quality equipment and good tech support make sure you include DELTA KITS as one of your inquiries!

I am curious what the outcome is. Did you purchase a DELTA KIT or not? If not, what tooling did you go with and what was it that made you go with another manufacturer? Or, are you still in the decision process?

I am just curious because one of my deciding factors to go with DELTA KITS besides all the integrity,quality and true concern for their clients was hearing the many techs at an expo I attended. Their disappointments in the tooling they purchased was quite obvious at the DELTA booth, but what I did not here at the other booths I spent time at was any techs wishing they had not bought a DELTA KIT.

Check out the Glas Weld kit before you make a final decision. They offer amazing support. Tools are the best tooling out there bar none. Resins are perfect.

Resins were perfect?? WOW! At least you're not biased or anything!

Glas Weld must have changed in the last six months, because that sure doesn't sound like the Glas Weld that I know and USED to use!

I wanted to know why you did not visit Glasweld when you were in oregon. Since they are in bend oregon. I`ve heard from local vendors they are a quailty company also. Please respond I`m very curious to know why. If you are really looking at different kits before purchase why would you not include them. Thanks PS any reply would be appreciated.

Hi Terry,thanks for the post reply.
i have not purchased a kit yet but i was torn between DELTA KIT and U.S. WINDSHIELD REPAIR kit.
I got on GLAS WELD site and found the equipment to be more pricey than others and the injector wasnt able to get to the edge of windshield because of the tripod design. Now correct if i am wrong because i am looking to purchase quality equipment for my business.
I had also heard that some techs were not impressed by there resins.
I currently live in Oregon, about 4 hours from Bend. I was impressed by the demo's done by delta and by u.s. windshield repair. Although delta had a much slower repair time and there crack repair procedure looked a bit sloppy in delivery
but looked good when complete.
u.s. windshield repair was awesome all the way around!! My problem is that i dont here any techs talking about there equipment.

Glas Weld has a stainless steel edge adapter that allows you to put the injector right beside the edge of the mouldings if need be. It screws into the tripod then extendes outwards about 3-4 inches. It was included in my kit.

They sure do, and it works about as well as you would expect an "adapter" to work. My question is, why didn't they design it right the first time?
