Insurance Calls
I am new to the windshield repair business but have a friend with a dealership that will let me start...The 3 way insurance call seems like a slow and dated way to do the business...is there any software or other way that can avoid the call and shorten the customer/my time repairing the chip?

Re: Insurance Calls
I'm not going to say there isn't a way to do it but let's just say the networks frown upon anyone who tries to get around the system. It wasn't always this way but they now feel it's necessary to control claims harvesting. Admittedly it is a pain.
Many windshield repair technicians will start the repair and then make the call to the TPA. Legally the customer can take their car anywhere they want to get their windshield repaired so if you are already in the process of making the repair it's pretty difficult for a Network to steer your customer away from you and although it's not 100% guaranteed that you will get approval I've not heard of anyone getting denied as long as they are a legitimate company, signed up with the network in question and the customer has the proper coverage. We have to be a little careful here because there are a lot of State Farm customers and they do not waive the deductible for repairs but we've never had a problem with any other company.
