raised characters on lense

Hello,

I recieved my headlight restoration kit recently. I did half a lense for practice and comparision. It actually turned out quite well. I still want to practice some before I work on someone's lights. A couple of questions here. 1. Some lenses have raised numbers or letters on them. I guess there is no choice but to sand them smooth for a great job? Does the customer ever care that these are sanded off? 2. After the Infinity 4.1 has cured it only takes light pressure with a finger nail to create a scratch. Is this normal? I would like to know these things in advance as I anticipate that I will get asked these things sooner or later.

It takes 4 or 5 days for the Infiniti 4.1 to be commpletely cured per instructions. When are you scratching it with your figer nail? Most of the numbers on the lens are usually embedded within the polycarbonate. Never had a problem with a customer reference this. Dont sand the little nipples off on the lenses. They are normally used to adjust the headlight beam.

What kit are you using?

Question 1 - I get these from time to time too. It will say "Valeo 12345 Left/Right" in the corner, for example.

It's raised and has to be sanded off. It is just on top, not through the lens, so you will have no dramas

Your second question about scratching - Infinity scratches pretty easily. Just yesterday, I was comparing two UV coatings - I took some 1500 grit and very, very lightly circled it on a HLR I did months ago - it scratched the hell out of the Infinity.

Saying that - the other two products did the same - and the OEM too

I am using the Delta Kits HLR system with Infinity 4.1 So pommy do you use Infinity too or are you using something else? In response to candyman's question about how long after application that I tried scratching it: The first time was the in a couple of hours out from application and then up to five days later. It did scratch five days later with light pressure. I know people don't go around scratching headlights with finger nails but a little sand or dirt on a rag when washing the vehicle could do the same thing. The lense I practiced on was from I would guess a mid 90's Ford Explorer. It did have some raised characters as well as a raised Ford emblem.

I currently use Infinity - it's the best product I've tried.

The only thing I can think, of is that your mixture could be off? Not enough clear compared to the white?
