Good luck! Maybe Subway has a forum for their owners. ;)

I wish you the best of luck in your new venture, must admit I looked at it over here myself only on further investigation it looked liked I was only buying a job. Getting and keeping the right staff seems to be the biggest problem with Subway over here, I must add though I am a fan of them.

So true, Screenman. Having employees causes a whole new set of problems, especially young people earning minimum wage. That is what I love about this business.

Not forgetting that for maximum profit you want staff with small hands, whilst the customer wants the staff to have large hands.

Look guys..when I said I wanted to wish you the best, I really meant it. Over the last 6 years Safelite has been such a pain to me, taking over many of my rental, fleet accounts, insurance and other. I just wanted to try something different. Just got tired fighting against this giant. I've already owned two franchises prior to repair with managing up to 13 employees, so I know that part of it all to well.

I have a cousin who has been operating 5 Subway shops for over 18 years now and has done very well for himself. He has more then he needs at 62 years of age and just wants to downsize to a few locations and offered this to me. All his locations are bought and payed for...so I made an offer, which he accepted. I won't make much more than $50,000 to $60,000 starting out having a fully staffed store but it's a start for me. Hopefully, next year I'll be able to buy another one. I know it's a big risk but after he opened up his books to me...I made my decision! Would I have opened a new Subway location? Most likely not from what I've read from other new franchise operators.

Anyway, I guess I just got too old for this business but will tell you. I've saved a lot over the years while servicing repairs and I'm willing to gamble with it on something new. What else can I do? Post on this forum every day? ;) ;)
