Re: Pray for our friend
Hey everyone,
Thanks for all the prayers I sure needed them. I was in some pretty bad shape, my family even flew my wife out from Texas because we didn't know how bad it was going to get. I am doing a lot better now, been on IV drips for four days now. Getting use my wife's IPad form the hospital bed to write this. Hope they release me in a few days. Anyway thanks again for all the prayers.

Re: Pray for our friend
David, I have a close neighbor that's been waiting for a kidney transplant for over a year. (they told her 3-4 years wait) She had it done this week after her husband donated one of his. Eliminated the3-4 year wait and they are both doing fine. Might be something to consider with family if possible? The donator would experience up to 6 weeks recovery time from work. just a thought and suggestion.Coitster wrote:Hey everyone,

My wife wants to donate a kidney but they need to check her first. The wait time in the bay area is over 10 years, that's why we are moving to Texas in August because it's only a two year wait there. No Matter what though I will have a compermised immune system for the rest of my life and that's why I got sick this time. A normal person wouldn't of had the problems I had. That's also why I love WSR because it's not hard and I can still work.

Re: Pray for our friend
Haven't been on the forum for a few days. Lots of us are praying for you David. I really can't imagine what you and your family are going through, but on the positive side, we just spoke with a friend who donated a kidney to her sister several years ago. The transplant was a complete success but after a number of years the donated kidney started to fail as well. She was able to find another donor and had a second successful surgery, but this time both parties recovered much quicker. The surgical techniques and success rates are getting better all the time!
Please keep us posted.

David, I hear you buddy. Anybody that's healthy should be able to offer repairs into their mid 70's. It's not hard work. Much like you, I've been battling with my health over the last 4 years and it really sucks when you want to do more but cannot.Coitster wrote:My wife wants to donate a kidney but they need to check her first. I've often wondered if our long term exposer to some of these chemicals hasn't caused some of these health issues.
Anyway, Best wishes...and get better soon!
Re: Pray for our friend
It is really saddening to hear his state. He shared a lot of helpful info and was considerate to reply to all queries. Hoping he gets back doing the same soon. I will pray for him to get well soon!

Re: Pray for our friend
Hi David, first please accept my apologies for being so late on this topic, I have been away from the computor for 4 days only to come back and find this.
I am extremely happy it seems you are over the worse and that you continue on the mend as far as possible, you are somebody whose work style I have admired for many years and often quote your name in my training classes.
Best of luck for the future.
