hey Everyone, I am starting a new adventure with wsr. I am very excited about it but am confused if I should just direct bill or use a network. It seems it is easier to use networking but if you are persistant with the insurance companies you seem to make more money with direct billing. please help i need some guidance :D

Welcome, Ardrick.

Have you checked the past posts in regard to "direct" or billing through a "network"?

There are volumes of info in that regard that have managed long ago to hammer that subject into abject submission and final absolution from one point of view or another.

On the other hand, it has been my fervent contention that I doubt that very much.

Rather that I be accused of animal cruelty by beating a supposedly dead horse but more aptly and apparently a cat with more than nine lives:

contact the moderator (Delta) and they will steer you to the various points of view through the search engine archives in spite of the fact I was told a few months ago it was a corpse.

Must be a re-animated mummy trailing yards of ace bandages, in fact.

But, yes. Most certainly.

You WILL make more money circumventing the networks and billing direct to the insurance companies although you are not supposed to know that.

After you've studied the posts, I'll tell you how and I'll tell you why.

But, only after, OK?

A good question, Ardrick.

As desertstars said, this subject comes up often, and will, because new people will always be interested in this subject.

You may find that only the ardent proponents or opponents even bother to respond to these type of questions anymore, since it has been asked many times.

I would suggest using the search feature of this forum. Search for "direct bill network" without the quotes, and make sure to search for ALL words, not ANY words.

That search will come up with many, many threads on this exact subject.

To put it simply, it is possible to make more money per repair by direct billing, but that doesn't necessarily translate to more money at the end of the month. It takes more work, organization, and patience to direct bill than it does to go through the networks. If that time is used wisely, I believe you can make much more money through the networks than around them.

Ardrick.

Do follow Delta's suggestion as to pursuing your answers vis a vis direct and network billing.

I must and will disagree with their other conclusions after that point but you should not be concerned with any further comments past this unless and until you are fully cognizant and educated concerning the procedures and the history of the present network system.

To risk drawing conclusions before obtaining that aforementioned knowledge is to become further confused.

For those others who may be interested.

The FACT is that repair only companies do NOT receive anything near a fair share of jobs delegated through present network systems.

If circumventing networks entails a certain amount of nebulous and undefined additional work in order to do so, and that additional nebulous and undefined work also requires a small amount of effort to fight off those who wish to control this wsr ONLY business that belongs to us, I'm ALL for it.

The fact is that you CAN bill Lynx directly WITHOUT a dispatch number.

The fact is that last month it took us longer to get paid for a few and far between dispatched job than it took for an UNDISPATCHED job to be paid.

I'll make no comment about Safelite although I have many opinions about those losers and the games they play.

I'm all for direct billing until I see where glass replacement manufacturers and glass replacement oriented companies don't control the networks.

It's as simple as that unless someone has either a vested direct or indirect interest or is wearing rose-colored glasses.

I'm as tired of this subject as anyone else, I'm sure.

Use 'em; don't use 'em. Or use 'em when you can use 'em to your advantage as opposed to them using you.

i'm trying every billing method known to man at the present time. I figure I'll try em all and see what works best for me. After all most people start this business because they think it is a good move for THEM and THEM alone! Stands to reason that you should take all the info you can compile and then go in the direction that is best suited to your needs. I'll let ya'll know when I conclude my investigation lol.
