newbie polish question

I understand that some start with 320 grit others with 500 and move up the ladder. My question is does everybody use a polish after your last sanding step(3000) before sealing the HL? Or do you need those fine fine scratches for the Coat2Protect to hold. After reading soo much it starts to confuse ya. Just looking for the basics. Thanks.

I stopped polishing long ago. The coating will fill all the scratches left by the 3000 making the polishing step a bit redundant.

Agree with t4k. No reason to polish.
