Bill,

Your probably correct. I thought is was StateFarm but after researching further it appears to be AllState that is moving to SGC in 2012.

Thanks for the clarification.

I believe you got that backwards drystar. Allstate is switching to SGC in January.

DavidS you said it yourself there are some people who do not care what they spend, these are my target customers. My customers know I save them money and not cost them money, it is all about the way the product is sold, selling is what we do.

Training in every city, what or where is the need for that one? People have traveled to me from many countries around the world I also know Delta have the same happen, if anyone is serious about working for themselves then distance should be a minor issue.

Your quote: "If ins compaines ever went to "bidding" method, this would be a disaster...WS techs would be
under bidding each other just to get work, bad for techs, but insur would love this because it
would lower their payouts for WS repair..."

Just to update you...Lynx Services a (TPA) has already done this for some years now with StateFarm and AllState. It"s called customized offers! Many non-mobile shops in my area will offer $20-$25 for repair just to get customers in and try to convert these into replacements. State Farm is leaving Lynx and going with Safelite in 2012. I'm sure things will change. Maybe Allstate will follow in 2013.
its always over money...and guess who ends up with the bad deal? Its funny how our prem's go up
all the time, how many of you have been contacted by ins saying you just got a raise on your next job...

Lynx seems to be popular, but ins carriers are jumping ship...so what do you do if you use lynx to process your
claims, and a popular ins carrier is no longer on the list or jumps ship, what do you do then?

not everyone is loaded down with cash to travel short/long distance to get some training, otherwise there only would be
one school in america, and everyone would travel from all over the world, not everyone would be able to afford it.
You can be serious all you want, but being serious does not load your bank account down with money...I do not
need a school in every city, but would be nicer if one was somewhat closer to me, and training is just a plus, I am
sure there are far many people that had to train themselves, and they do a fine job at WS repair, others, not so much...

Why do you feel that we need to sell anything? They have a break, they need to get it fixed, they call
someone, either you or someone random in the phone directory...just like me, I had a break in my WS...
I looked online not knowing who I was going too, and I went to him hoping he did a good job...he
did not have to sell me anything, I was already looking for someone to fix my WS, and this guys does not
have to sell anything either, he sits in a good location off the side of the road, and he pulls cars
in left and right without ever lifting a finger, and he has yet tried to sell anything, they come to him....

I also saw a post not to long back saying that the govt should require people to become certified before they
can work on WS repair...this is never going to happen, and it would not be fair since there is not a school
in every major city, then it would be not be a reasonable request to require certification if there are no
training schools in a reasonable area of where people live, and if there were, this market would crash, there
would be so many WS techs out there that no one would be making money, much less a living....pharmacy tech
training is a prime example, there is a pharmacy tech school in almost every major city, and in-between, there
are far more pharmacy techs looking for a job, then there are jobs actually open for pharmacy techs, so these
guys spent all this money going to school, and getting nothing for their money....

Seems you have all the answers and I have all the experience, experience tells me to be a success in this business and most others you need sales skills.

Maybe so, but your reply is rather smug.
