I have the latest style of repair kit from Delta.
I was reading through some of the old issues of 'wise-crack' and it said [from 2007] that we shouldn't use acetone to clean our kits.
Is this still true?

Re: Acetone for cleaning
You need to get some denatured alcohol. You can purchase this from a drug store, Wal-mart, or Home Depot. Typically, after every repair I clean my equipment (meaning I will unscrew the injector from the bridge and place it in a jar (JR600). I swirl it around for about a minute or so then I place my injector in the other position (pressure or vacuum) then I swirl it around for another minute or so. Afterwards, you take them out of the jar and wipe them dry with a paper towel. You can keep your injector and seal in the denatured alcohol for an extended period time but it is best to keep the injector in the pressure cycle. Also, you can get some canned air and spray your equipment between repairs (but canned air is pricey).

This video was shot using the B300 but the B250 and B300 repair assemblies use the same injector.

Sorry to be a pain but just need to clarify, in the UK denatured alcohol seems to be called methylated spirit, and its purple. Just want to make sure I dont damage the equipment in any way!

Re: Acetone for cleaning
I use Isopropyl Alcohol or Acetone for cleaning the non spring loaded injectors.

Methylated spirit is a type of denatured alcohol with a aniline dye added. I have never used it personally but as long as you let it dry, which you need to do with any solvent used to clean your injector, it should be fine.
Just to clarify, you can use acetone to clean your Delta Kits stainless steel injectors if you do not have denatured alcohol available. We don't recommend it because denatured alcohol is safer to work with, does not leave a residue and cleans just as well as acetone, but it will work in a pinch, just as isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, etc.
Regardless of what you use to clean your injector, blowing it out with compressed air or wiping dry with a lint free cloth is a good idea.
