So your Novus Franchisor trained you differently than the one I had worked for! So be it! I do perform quality repairs and have only really had a difficulty with a crack, plain and simple. Are you trying to tell me you have never had a problem filling a break or crack? I highly doubt it. Just down below, there is another UK member who claims he paid you for training, so I guess the fact of the matter is you do make money from this forum. Yeah, he may not of joined this forum until after training, but perhaps he found you on this forum before he joined. Everyone on here is going to have a difficulty in performing WSR at one time or another, up to and including you. When I make my follow up calls to 99% of my customers, they are quite happy with the work I performed.screenman wrote:Did not know UV existed in the shade or your explanation, seems the same to me. I also pointed out I was trained by Novus and they banged UV protection into me, I have since experimented to discover more about where and how UV can affect us. Lets face it most people after a training session forget a lot of what was taught, as we can see on the forum.
Yes I bang on about training, I am passionate about my trade and want everybody else to do quality repairs that will get us a good name and keep it, where is the problem in that. This trade is full to the brim with untrained, unskilled and uncaring bodgers.
I earn nothing for being on here, I do however get a good income from WSR and would like to carry on sharing over 23 years of knowledge.

Take it easy, if I remember correctly a short while ago you were hoping to get some mentoring, sure are going about it a funny way.
The UK poster said he did not hear about me on here, is that not enough for you. You words on this subject are a bit confusing to say the least.
I am one of many Delta distributors, as far as I know the only one that takes time to post on here and try their best to help, do you not think that if there was any money being made that the others would be on here.
Try not to go through life thinking that because somebody gives something, in my case help and advice that they have an ulterior motive.
Sure we all have breaks that are slightly different and maybe less easy to fill, but knowing as many tricks as you can often helps overcome any problems.
Why not start posting some good advice on here instead of launching out at those that have been recognised as doing so.

One thing I would make sure you have is enough resin and windshields to do a good many quality practise repairs.
Sorry about the off topic bit.

Great advice, sometimes you just gotta sit back and wait, I have started repairs that don't seem to be doing anything, then, with a little bit of patience, the damage disappears...............Having patience when out and about selling helps too!clearquest wrote:3 must have accessories.........a brain........common sense.........a little bit of patience!
As for a brain and common sense............damn, thats me done for!!!!!

At risk of repeating myself, would all you new guys please remember an umbrella will not prevent premature UV curing. Good tool to help you or the glass stay in the shade though.

It has been repeated several times that the umbrellas are used as shade(to cool the windshield and the technician) NOT a UV blocking tool.
As in your part of the world you work hard to control moister, over here the heat in summer is equally as hard to work with.
That being said, if it's daylight I always use a UV blocker inside or outside

Re: must have accessories?
Over here UV is also a major problem, I would suggest only 1 in every 20 so called repair guys over here use any UV protection, much the same as in the USA I would imagine.
The more we bang home to the new guys the importance of learning the job properly then the more those and us get respect for our trade.
