Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, having purchased a Delta Kit & training from Screenman here in the UK, I am now up and running on the South Coast of England.
I was just wondering [sorry if this has been raised before] but how do I overcome indifference when out on the industrial sites and calling on fleets.
Some seem interested, some give me a flat 'no thanks' but many seem indifferent...any ideas or suggestiond please?
That is a very vague ?.This business depends on how good of salesman and business man you are.You have to be dilegent in any business to be succeful.Once you get some confidence that will help your sales ability.
I find often I can convert indifference by being persistent, just one call is seldom enough. Some of my best customers took 10+ calls before I got the chance to do my first job for them. Also I gave myself targets in the early days, number of calls for one 10 a day was my maximum. Talking to the correct person, often a phone call made sure I was talking to that person on arrival, remember you want the organ grinder not the monkey.
Preparation, being sure about what you can offer the customer, finding out their needs, for some it is money saving for others time saving, there are many more you could bring into the sell.
Years ago I could get away with just looking smart and tidy whilst selling, now I find wearing shirts with my logo on leads customers taking more notice of me.
I will try and add a few more points when I have a bit more time.
Keep going, you had a great start last week make sure you keep the momentum going.
I must admit, I am new to this type of selling and am still finding my feet, I guess you're right, I hopefully will develop a style....what I won't do is give up and stop trying
