Wouldn't it be just great to first introduce yourself here on the board? And to tell the people you are asking for help something about yourself, your experience, what you've done so far yourself to get jobs, your location etc?coast stonechips wrote:Im currently starting my own wsr business and just looking for the best ideas on starting to get work??
Too many newbies just enter here, expect all sorts of help, without telling something about ....indeed.
I just wonder wether this has become the new norm. Come on new folks, this is not a one way street.

Amen!!!! Use the search feature BEFORE asking questions-most have been answered many. many times before yours. Do some homework, then ask questions.

Re: Starting new wsr business, help getting jobs???
Ok, well, here goes............
I am starting a Windshield repair on the south coast here in the UK.
I have been in the industry since the early eighties and was one of the very first 'believers' of repair when launched by Autoglass [Belron] to the UK in the early nineties.
Subsequently I made quite a name for myself back then because i was so succssful.....[albeit for Belron!!]
Even back then I wanted to start up doing repair on my own, don't think the market here would have been ready for it though.................
Anyway, back to 2011 and I have finally set up!!!
I bought a Delta kit and recieved training from Screenman......
Guys, I have been in the industry since the eighties but let me tell you [if you don't already know] this guy REALLY knows about repair and the repair market here in the UK.
Onwards and upwards now................I look forward to contributing more to this forum as time goes on!!!!

Good to see you on here, I am more than confident that you will succeed. Just get out and start knocking on doors and never stop doing so, even when you are busy put time aside each week for selling.

Sorry Frank.
Im new to this site but been doing windscreen replacement and repairs for about 5 years now so have plenty of experience doing chip and crack repairs, im 19 years old. Im currently working at a replacement and repair business my dad owns on the east coast in australia, but moving up the coast in a few months to start my own repair business. Ive bought a delta kit and all the other useful tools from delta, so working for myself is obviously going to be a whole new thing for me, so hopefully this foram can give mea few helpful tips on selling.
