Life Time Warranty Question

Hello

I wanted to know if most offer a life time guarantee? Also if most of the clients are ins. and they are not happy with repair how do we refund the client if they never even paid for it? Would we send the money back to the ins. company?

Can a repair be redone if you mess it up?

I think everyone should offer the guarantee. In fact, if you count on referrals at all from any of the networks I think they require it. And yes, if the repair is at all unsuccessful, the refund goes to the insurance company. As far as repairing a repair...I have capped pits in other repairs but have not yet attempted drilling or otherwise trying to fix a previous repair. Assuming that the repair cracked out, it may not be worthwhile to attempt depending on the length of the crack....

If your signed with any network, all repairs that didn't meet customers satisfaction or failed will be charged back to you. You don't pay customer back for a free repair, it's simply charged off your account.

Some extremely poor repairs can be refilled, but make sure they are never one of yours. Proper training and plenty of practise on scrap windshields hopefully will see you with the skills required.

I now do zero insurance work, but if you did ever have to do a refund it would go to the person or company who paid the invoice.

I'm new to the biz but I'm offering not just a lifetime guarantee but a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I'm confident enough in the quality of my work that I feel 99% will be satisfied. If somebody isn't or I have one crack out I'd rather refund the money than lose a customer or have someone bad-mouth me all around town. My costs are so low its not like I'm out a lot of money. I've worked in retail before and I've seen store owner's and managers lose a customer over a $5.00 refund. I've never understood that attitude.

I agree with you on that one for sure. I mean certainly there are going to be circumstances where the person, may indeed be happy with your work, but say they are not , just to get their money back. These are the ones I will look at real closely and evaluate the repair again. It may not warrant a refund at that point, if in fact they are just scamming you! But I agree, if it is a legitimate gripe, I would also refund immediately. Especially on any fleet business.

Smithy,I know what you are saying but you have to stand by your word.Yes,you are going to have dishonest people but that is part of the cost of business.They will reap what they sow!I have run up against exactly what you are talking about and it was frustrating but I knew in my heart that I did the very best repair possible.When you do 10 repairs a day it is going to happen sooner or later,just like crack outs.You just have be like the QB that throwed an interception move on to the next play and dont think about the last because you gave a 100%.

Point taken Bill. It is just sad to think that even if the repair looks magnificent, that you would have to return the $$$$$$$......But you are right, if you don't have your word, what are you worth?

I agree. I know there are a few dishonest people who may scam me on my guarantee. That's just part of being in business. I'll still stand by my guarantee and not charge them. Of course, a benefit of working for myself is that I don't have to accept their business if they call again. :mrgreen:

Yeah you can keep a black list. But a thought, if they were not happy with your work.......why would they call you again.....That would be shady! LOL
