Re: American windshield repair
I would definitely advise doing your homework when it comes to which system you ultimately settle on. Not all systems are alike and the fact that the system you mentioned is inexpensive should not be the deciding factor. This is one of those cases where I believe you do get what you pay for. Also, in the company's advertisement they state, "It's never been easier to make over $80,000 a year owning a Windshield Repair Business!" Good luck on that! While it is certainly possible to earn great money doing WSR, earning that kind of income is not easy and if you do manage to accomplish this, it would likely take years to build up the business to that level.... Just my opinion.

Mr Prince get in a couple of post so you can PM me and I will give you some info on the American system. When I got back into windshield repair I purchased two of their kits. I learned windshield repair using screw type injectors so for me learning to use their system was easy for me. I own a Delta Bridge too which I prefer using because of the simplicity of their system. I do however use the American bridges on a daily basis too.

Can you pull any kind of vacuum with the American system?

Yes you can. It works just like the Delta system and the Glassweld. I cant find how one is better then the other. One says they have the best. The other says no we have the best. So i want to find out for myself. I know there is a lot of hype In a lot of theses kits, but it seems they all do the same job. One might take a little longer or one might not use the best resin one might not have tech support. But it seems this isnt brain surgery. one should pick up on this Fairly easy. All the Windshield reapir kits offer some kind of training that should be enough to teach you the basics. Iam more concerned on getting jobs and how that is done. I can always buy a "Better" Kit down the road if needed. Right now its all about cost. Will see what happens...................

Re: American windshield repair
Cost is an issue with anything, however, like others said, do your homework and do what you can to find some used equipment. That's how I have started out and I must say, any repairs I do on windshields that have prior repair work done are sub-par. I would recommend begging borrowing or maybe stealing to obtain a Delta Kits setup on the front end. It will pay for itself in short time. Good luck
Re: American windshield repair
Ordered The American Kit today!! Cant wait until it gets in my Hands. The people at Delta have Been Great and when I make enough money they will be the first to get some.
Now its time to learn. I Talked to a guy at one of our junk yards and he was fine with me learning On some cracked windshields. He has hundreds of them with cracks and stars, bullseyes etc. In the mean time I will hustle in getting my licence and business stuff set up. Thanks for forums like this. You people are the Best!!!!!!

Re: American windshield repair
Training is one of the key ingredients to being successful. If you aren't taught how to read a break, flex the glass, remove the moisture, etc. you can practice until the cows come home and you'll just be an experienced hack unable to truly repair a break because all you are doing is repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Do yourself a favor and get trained by Delta, GlasWeld, or another reputable company. Equipment is important, but actually knowing what you're doing is what separates the professional from the hack. Another avenue may be that there is someone on the forum that lives close enough to train and mentor you. Good luck!
