No I don't need to hire the gang bangers, we already have plenty of those in Kansas City taking care of that for me. And I am sure they are not only doing that but much, much more!puka pau wrote:In addition to putting up a tent, cold calling fleets and car dealers, and walking parking lots, consider hiring a few unemployed gang-bangers to do drive-bys. Jobs are hard to come by these days and any banger with a BB or pellet gun could drum up tons of business in just a few hours. Supply the tools, pay for that NRA course and the calls will just pour in. You'll have more business than you can handle.

Re: Question?
Thank you for the Good Luck wishes. In reference to my attitude, I don't have an attitude, but it is seemingly coming to light that alot of the others on here do. For example: I have a 2008 Mustang GT, that I put some performance parts on it, upon restarting the vehicle, a wrench light showed up on the car's dashboard and it ran terrible. So I go on to Mustang Forum's, tell what mods, I installed, and what happened, and within one hour, I had over 15 responses that instantly solved the problem.....That is what a forum is about. If you type in your search here and you don't find the answer, then I thought it would be ok to post the question. And for your information, I have already read solid over 88 pages of thread on here. And no one owes me spit, you are correct about that, and that is why I put the question out there. If I post a question or comment, and you choose not to answer.....THEN DON"T!! Simple as can be. Simple Logic. Those that actually want to assist others, then should respond.DryStar wrote:Smithy,SMITHY wrote:That is all well and good sir, that you are successful and us newbies are trying to be.screenman wrote:Go hit fleets, pound the beat, put up a tent and walk parking lots looking for damaged windows. This is how I started my successful WSR business, many guys pay out for websites and adverts and then find they have little work coming in.![]()
But look at how descriptive you were....Pound the beat: Where, When, With Who, What was your approach and how do you overcome the gatekeeper.
Put up a tent: Where, What time of days (lunch, dinner, breakfast or just sat there all day), did you need a permit, did you have to pay off the person, where you were tenting etc.
Walk parking lots: Okay, so this one is pretty simple to me, but for others they may be asking, so you found a broken windshield, what did you do??? Leave a post card, business card, wait to talk with the owner of the car, sit on their car, fall asleep, smoke a fag or what????
See what I mean, no real meat and potatoes in anyone's answers!!
Sir, your attitude isn't going to help you much on this forum. Nobody on here owes you or anybody else spit but there are many who have shared. Many of your questions have already been answered in previous threads and post. My suggestion is to spend a week searching through these and when you find something that hasn't been covered please feel free to ask.
Anyways, good luck to you!

Re: Question?
You know, there have been a couple of persons on here that were helpful. Brent and Korey. Barking you say, what you are hearing Chippen is frustration. I am not in a position to bark at anyone! But take a look at this thread, they all appear to be willing to bark at me! Why? Because they don't want to type!!! I have responded to everyone on here's response in under two minutes. I am sure though that you are all so super busy, though that you can't type a quick constructive message versus, what has happened on every new persons question. I mean come on, let's be honest here, if you can type..." Under Business Development, you will find the information that you are looking for". Would it not have been just as easy to type the answer?just chippen away wrote:Smithy, The seniors you are talking about started with out the Internet learning the ropes on our own. Theme was no one with a gold plated to give us information when we needed it. No one was there to jump just because we wanted them to..... You should be grateful you do have the help you get from some of them even putting up with your tantrums right now....
As we are all trying to say................. Do your homework and read, search and read more.... If you can not find what you are looking for, re-word it differently and a key word will pop out.
I see you come here and only have 13 posts and already barking at us on we owe you because you became a windshield repair person....
The time you wasted bitching us out, you could have used that time to find what you were looking for.....
I and others have been down this road with others like you and the answer is always going to be the same.....
We are tired of typing the same thing over and over.... for every new member........ It is just how things are. Remember, We are seniors. We take the easy way out also..... Even my dad use to say: "Go do your homework, I am not going to do it for you, I have already done mine"
Oh by the way, welcome aboard.. Hang in there, You will be about to say this to others in short time...

Re: Question?
Smithy,
I understand your frustration about searching 197 pages of threads, as it can be a little overwhelming. As you can see, I don't post alot, unless I feel I can make a relevent contribution to the thread. If you have any questions or just want to vent, you can pm or email me anytime. While I might be a newbie on this forum, I have been repairing windshields for twenty one years and yes I learn something new everyday.
