Judging by the state of the pinchweld this car has had at least one glass fitted before and whoever did it, omitted to prime the surfaces correctly, hence its poor state. I would also add that car designers gave little thought to aperture design and edge trims on older vehicles, which allowed water seep in and be easily trapped, accelerating rusting.
