When I first started my WSR I was told about the networks so I joined safelite. I expected to do a good biz but that didnt happen I seem to get the ones they didnt want, and had to go by there priceing, soon there refferals stopped, they came out of banck rupcy and stared there glass medics program and now they control most of the insurance repair refferal leads and I was giving them my leads and paying them too!! Then I dropped them and went with lynx and was able to get full price on the repairs. Now safelite is the big dog on the block and I still have to bill through them but able to get full price but no refferals. So what do suggest a independent should do?

Jonny,
I have a question, how are you giving them your leads?? You are doing the job, its your customers. All safelite is able to do is add them to a database. If you are doing your homework you should be following up with the customer and thanking them for their business so that you will get repeat business. Maybe I don't understand, hell my wife says I never understand anything so sorry if I am a little confused.

full time
Coitster When you join the safelite network you agree to there terms and conditions,,,,So when you get a refferal from them your price is set, when you find your customer your billing goes through them and subject to there prices, you agreed to. hope you can understand if not ask your wife.

Johnny,
You said "I was giving them my leads and paying them too!! " How where you giving them your leads?? I understand that you where having to call them but you are not giving them your leads. You where using them to get referal numbers and to process your claims. I still don't see how you are giving them leads. They aren't coming out and taking your customer away from you if you are on the network. Granted I don't like the networks or what they represent however this is a topic for another time.
:::Eyes Desterstars and knows he wants to comment:::
Anyway maybe I was reading to much into your comment.

Good luck AutoEgo
Jonnyone, you seem a bit confused...
The networks don't "take away" your work. If you can sell your work for more than they pay, then do it. For example, it's entirely possible to get a customer to pay you like $75 and they can get reimbursed for as much as their ins. will pay...$50-60. Then it effectively "costs" them $15-25 out of pocket. Personaly I think $50-60 is more than a fair price for WSR. IMHO
Also, you can't "drop" one network and "go" with another. Each network handles claims for a different group of insurance companies. For example, State Farm uses Lynx to process their glass claims. You can't go to Safelite and do work for State Farm because you don't like Lynx, etc.
You also don't have to "pay them"... at least not much. I assume you mean the $7.50 fee. Bill direct either the customer or the ins. company if possible. Or use Glasscomp and only pay a couple bucks.
