I don't have a lot of time to look at this forum. I recently signed on but had to wait for approval over the weekend. This is the first chance I had to check back and post. Sorry, I would have posted sooner, If I noticed the recent post. I'ts after hours, here on the east coast, so I will have to post anything further later.
Thanks

Thats fair Develup is a company that sells a product like any they dont want mistaken use of thier name I have a friend owns a small company that makes a protection product unfortunatly everyone refers to all products like his as Mace His is the only one but everytime someone gets hit with pepperspray they got Mace'd
I have not used the develup system and I am sure it works fine and of course they will have some explanation as to why thier system works better we see that here everyday with WR systems they are all the best and thier system works better for some technical reason its the same in every buisness be it Autos or Mac and Cheese
I go with what works for me and tell people what it is. Take it for what it is a guy who earns his living with the product not a guy who earns his living selling you the product Works for me

Per Mini's request, I've reviewed this post on the forum, and I would like to shed some light on coatings in general and Dvelup's system. Being involved in the development of the system I'm can provide you with some details however we are restricted to provide in depth info as to the chemical make up for reasons such as those you have read on the forum.I would also like to inform you Dvelup isn't a one man band or a fly by night company. Research for Dvelup covered many different acrylics, urithanes, silicones and other polymers that could be used as the foundation for a sealer. Each of these form a family containing hundreds of different molecule compostions and formulas each with it's own characteristics or benefits and drawbacks. For instance in the family of urethanes one compostion, such as for a wood coating it would need to be able to penetrate the surface and remain very flexible, since wood expands and shrinks greatly from use and climate change. However it would lack the needed hardness and heat resistance needed for automotive lenses. This doesn't include carriers, crosslinkers, surficants, and other components which will also effect the overall characteristics of the final formula.
Even though our research has covered many polymers, which probably covered many of the ones in products available to the public, it's hard to say for sure which composition a manufacturer may use in their final fomula. Most manufacturers keep that information confidential.
Some may ask why not use the same sealer used by the light manufacturer. The problem is in the application. Whether the manufacturer uses silicone, urethane or another polymer, they are applied in a air filtered, climate controlled environment and then conveyered through UV rays for curing. Without strong UV they will not cure. I noticed someone assumed a coatings manufacturer (Red Spot Paint & Varnish Company) manufactured varnish for headlamp lenses. If you contact them, you will find they manufacture a wide array of coatings for wood, plastics and more, not just varnishes(wood coatings)
I can tell you that some of the chemicals that are mentioned in the forum as being used for lenses would definitely be considered harmful for many polycarbonate types. For instance using WD-40 on polycarbonate, not a wise idea.I made sure to verify and confirmed my info by contacting the manufacturer and was refered to their FAQ page on their website. Please feel free to look under questions "What surfaces or materials are OK to use WD-40 on?" The severity of the chemical reaction that will take place between the polycarbonate and some of the products you are using will depend on the light manufacture and which grade and type of polycarbonate they used in the lens.
Dvelup products are under constant testing and improvement. After testing and achieving improvements, slight alterations in Dvelup formulas are made over time. For example the polycarbonate sealer has been altered just six months ago. Over time improvements have included leveling, bonding, and durability.
Hopefully this information will be helpful. I am not only on staff with Dvelup, so please direct further inquiries to Mini at Dvelup.
