Re: Networks And The Insuance Companies They Represent.

Post by Anonymous »

Hello all,
I am happy that this forum is here and I've learned a lot reading the posts. It seems members of this forum are selfless and simply want to help each other.

I currently operate a paintless dent removal business in San Diego,Ca and want to add glass repair but am confused on how billing works. I've joined GlassComp thanks to you guys but how do I get the order preapproved? There are many insurance companies so what do you do? Thank You, Jason

How does this all Work?

dentmedics,

I do not use the networks for billing at this point. I use the direct billing method for my insurance claims. I will share what I know about the network topic but others who primarily use this method should be able to shine more light on it.

What I would do is first contact Glass Comp and see what requirements you must adhere too for them since your are signed up with their company. With that said, normally you or your customer will call the toll free number that the insurance company uses for its glass claims. This is usually is a direct number to their glass claims network. Once you or they get through you will need all customer and vehicle pertinent information and more than likely if you are calling they will want to speak with the customer to verify this. This should be all it takes to get a claim# or authorization#. Just a couple of suggestions though. If possible when you call do a three way call so you are on the line with the customer and the network. Tell them that the call is being recorded for quality assurance purposes. These two things combined will greatly reduce the chance of your customer being steered by the networks. When you send in your invoice make sure they have all the information and it is accurate. Don't give them a reason to kick back your bill for an even longer time period to receive your money.

Last but not least, there are some posts pertaining to this topic as well as direct billing in this forum in the archives. Also there is an insurance billing list and a networks and there associated insurance companies list.

I hope this helps.

Pay it foward,

Brian
