OK, I figured it out. I was using the wrong polish. The company I was getting polish from went out of business years ago, and I was using polish from another system from 15 years ago that I thought was the same. It works, but not nearly as good as the original polish or the stuff I am using now. All is well, bring on the scratches! :geek:

There are two ways to remove scratches. The easiest is to fill the scratches with an acrylic scratch remover, which is applied as a liquid and dries hard and transparent. For deeper scratches, the most popular fix is buffing the glass with cerium oxide, a popular glass, ceramic and metal polish with very low abrasivenessit's widely used in jewelry and ceramics.
