Hi guys and girls, I'm just curious what you all do for prepping the glass prior to a repair. What I do is as follows.

1. I clean the area around the break with a light water/soap solution in a spray bottle. I do mostly used car dealers, so there's plenty of dust.
2. I clean over the break with 91% isopropyl alcohol, giving it time to dry, I do this to remove any Rain X type applications.
3. I install my mirror and give the break a thorough inspection, looking for water, dirt, if all the break legs are connected etc.
4. Then I start the repair process.

Yes, I omitted letting the glass cool down in hot weather or warming it up in cold weather.
Thoughts additions anyone? Thanks

I do some of what you say and I also probe around break looking for hidden legs before I start. Sometimes, even on a bullseye, you put pressure around it and look at different angles you will find a leg sticking out that you then know needs filling before starting the repair.
