Drilling

I recently made the jump to doing windshield repair full time. I've been in and out of it part time since 1996, I'm an old Walt Gorman student. I don't like to do a lot of drilling, I find it makes the repair more noticeable than if you don't drill. I just use a carbide scribe and clean the break out brushing away the material with a toothbrush. Does anyone here drill everything and if so could I ask why, I'm not being a smart a** I just want to know. I know there are times you have to drill, I get that and I do drill when necessary. Any input? Thanks

I drill if it has legs on it. I use a really small bit and my repairs are still very hard to see when done. If its a bullseye I don't drill. Sometimes I can tap a needle inside impact point of a star break without drilling also. I just drill sometimes to be assured the entire break gets filled. I would say I drill on less than half of them.
