A few questions for anyone doing business in the state of florida were you required to get a state auto repair shop license before your county will issue you an occupational license ? if so were you required to get a state sales tax # as well, even though there will be no sales tax collected on a wsr service and did you have to submit a copy of your invoice and a copy of a estimate worksheet ? seems like a lot of red tape just wondering if all you floridians had to do the same. :?:

Thanks
Brad

Funny you brought that up, when I got my county license (july 03) I did not need anything to get it. Got a tax id # just to be safe, last thursday I got a call from an investigator with the USDA. He was standing in my driveway at home to tell me I need a state license, 100.00 for two years.

The rest of this story is too long to post here and too boring for the rest of us here to go on. PM me if you want my phone # and we can discuss the details.

Hey, CPR.

USDA?

Is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture?

What are you using for resin?

Onion juice?

Creole sauce?

Typically, the USDA involves itself in livestock issues. Ergo, CPR must be using horses, oxen, goats or cows to get to the job!!!

BTW - Didn't thing that Federal agencies would enforce local rules, even with State Code allowances?

Sorry for the typo the wild turkey must have gotten to me too quick, It is from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

And I take offence to the onion sauce remark, I HATE ONIONS ! use nothing but high quality hot glue on my repairs, really wow's the customer when I shave the repair with my pocket knife.

maybe, maybe not

I also hate onions, CPR.

Particularly fried onions.

Other than DaveC"s suggestion, I can hardly comprehend what the connection is between the Florida Department of Ag and Consumer Services unless it is yet another bureaucratic afterthought designed to suck up more funds in order to sustain more government employees.

Well, anyway.

I'm presently nonplussed and will probably remain so when it comes to the answer as to how so many government remoras can feed off a small business shark without debilitating the poor shark.
