Outside the Box

long time, first time here

I appreciate this forum, I've learned alot from you guys. My goal is to find out if any of you guys are dong anything outside the norm. to expedite time it takes filling out the invoice with customer.

With that said, I use edirect and sometimes when i do bldg. shoots or otherwise repairs where the customer is somewhat unavailable for long period of time my wife calls the customer from home to confirm the sched, repair, gets all the info needed, does the 3way call while keying everything in edirect incl. VIN while still on the phone. Im happy and don't really want to change that part of my process but to have the cust. or myself fill out all the info my wife already has at home which i could fill in later is somewhat redundant to the customer and myself.

Does anyone email the cust. inv. to them with an E-sign attachment that they just type their name & check the box so its considered a legal signature?

Any ideas outside the norm? but still acceptable with the networks?

We do it like most I assume and fill out the entire invoice with the customer and then have them sign when done with the call and repair. There are some situations probably similar to yours (3 way caller assist) where it would make life a little easier to gain a few mins. per repair (5-min X 5-repairs daily X 269-Yrly work days = 112 hrs). I could use an extra 112 hrs a year, I'd be caught up on "Days of our lives" in no time.

I too use edirect and even though I've never been asked to produce a signature, we still get them for record keeping. I am curious though if we could just provide our customers with an invoice containing only their name, car, inv#, ref#, warrranty, date and sign and we could fill the rest in later. Not sure how the networks would feel about the lack of info on the customers copy but I'm sure theres some customers who might feel a wee better that their address, ph.#'s and policy# have been given out 1 less time.

Good Question. If you come up with something, share it.
