I get $65.00 for non insurance work. Allstate and State Farm only pay $50.00 which I have been absorbing the differance. What do any of you do about extra expense due to gas and car maintenance?

I am just working my way into this business myself...everyone will keep an eye on their pennies...try to keep
your prices very close or even less then what your local competitors charge...will insur compaines allow
you to charge the client anything above $50? like $10 duduction for gas? Sometimes its better to bite the
bullet up front, simply because at the end of the year, you can write off all that gas/maintaince/tires, and
this will lower your tax bill or even result in a refund...If you have no issues getting what you are
getting, then keep doing what you are doing...what works for one, may not work for others...

I don't believe insurance companies allow you to have an adder to your price. You will either need to continue to absorb the difference or discontinue your work for the insurance companies. The whole idea of the customer using their insurance is for the repair to be "free". IMHO

If you signed an agreement with these insurance companies or any TPA's representing them, I don't believe you can charge them extra for travel or for any other expense under contract. If your not signed with them under contact, I believe you would be able to do so.

I look at like you have to take the bad with the good and the good with the bad.As far as Lynx you set your radius up through the metryx.I dont think anybody really gets much from sl and if you do it will be out in the middle of no where though.

I guess if he found himself a decent location, then let everyone come to him...
why waste gas when others can come to you...I was at a small windshield location
the other day, not more then 5-10 min would go by and this guy was working on
a windshield...if you think about it, you may even end up making more....and
he was so busy, he was turning others away as he was just a one-man shop....
