Just got my HLR stuff in from DK last week and tried it on my 1990 F250 yesterday. I didn't think the headlights were too bad until I did them. I was amazed at how good they turned out!

I masked the chrome bezel with blue tape but found the sanding disk wears through the tape after a while letting the sanding disk come in contact with the chrome trim. What/how are you guys masking the headlights to avoid contacting the trim around the lights? I found it difficult not to overlap the trim while working in the corners.

I use the blue tape over the green tape in areas where I think contact may occur. It acts as a tell tale. When you see green showing you know you need to put more blue tape on to protect the area and be more careful. The sander can not reach all areas either and this is where you have to hand sand. Take your time, know the limitations of your equipment , and try to plan for mistakes. Good luck!

Ugh...never thought of hand sanding. I guess I'll have to do that next time in tight areas.

Hand sanding isn't too bad. You only have to do the corners on the lenses with tight or 90 degree corners.
