Today I was asked by one of my accounts to restore a headlight on a 2005 Chevy Malibu. This particular car had the passenger side headlight replaced and for whatever reason the driver side was not replaced. The driver side headlight was semi-corroded and the Mgr asked if I could clear it up. I took the job and when I was finished I stepped back to admire the work. I couldn't believe what I was looking at because the restored light was brighter and looked as if it was the newer light. The Mgr. came over and took a look and was blown away at the results. The reason I titled this message "Had to see it!" is because I didn't take any before and after pictures and I know a lot of you will think I am blowing smoke. Oh well, I will have my camera with me from now on. Thank you Delta Kits for an awesome system. Simply the Best!

Cool! Did you have any problems sanding them? I did a set on a Impala once and they were very hard to sand. I used 15- 320grit discs on each light.

I had an older Saturn that just whipped my butt too, Roo. Older GM products are hard to sand.

I have read other post that the Chevy Malibu lenses or maybe the Impala was hard to do. This one though I had no problems. I used 1-320, 1-600, 1-1500 and 1-3000 polishing disc. Then coat to protect. Process took about 25 minutes.

Roo ! I had the same problem a few months back. I ordered the 180 sandiing disc and that has been a time saver. I did a HLR on a 2009 Chevy Cobalt a few weeks ago that was 50% spray painted black and then sprayed with polyulthane or something similar to clear coat. I had the lens done within 75 minutes. I use to photo every headllight. I stopped because of time and cost. I do it every now and then to update my books that I show to potential customers. The hardest lens to sand sometimes are the best. Voyagers and Caravans turn out like new in most cases. Iam having to redo some vehicles I did a year ago, that I gave a 18 month warranty to. So far its only been 2 Lexus, 1 mercedes, 1 cadillac, 1 dodge truck and a Infiniti this week. We've had the hottest summer in recorded history and I am not sure if that played a part of it or not. That isnt bad considering that is less than 2% of the headlights I've restored. My new limited guaranties are only for a year. If I had stuck to the year from the start I would have maybe had only 3 or 1% to redo. I read on the forum somewhere that a new lens is only guaranteed for 1 year. Have a great day!
