Brian Fenner - WRO Gold Medal Winner
Brian Fenner, Safe Glass Technologies, won the Gold Medal at today's NWRA Windshield Repair Olympics. Congratulations Brian! Silver last year and Gold this year, way to go!
My guy from Dallas, Lee Simms of SuperGlass took the Silver Medal. I am proud of that and proud of Lee. I believe Novus won the Bronze Medal.
It's a big commitment for all of the participants to prepare and make the trip and they all deserve credit for stepping out in front of their peers and performing. Congratulations to all who participated.

Re: Brian Fenner - WRO Gold Medal Winner
I believe there were 7 or 8 contestants this year, all of whom I think are very good technicians and very nice people. Regardless of the system used, all of the technicians in the competition did repairs that are far above the industry standard.Ricersux wrote:Since I have never been to the WRO could someone enlighten me in how the judging works? The cars are all identical and the breaks are similar for each contestant. The judges throw in a few surprises each year that catch some of the technicians off guard, but nothing that you would not expect to encounter in the field. Points are scored not only on repair quality, but on professionalism, customer interaction, adherence to industry standards, etc., which is fair as even no two breaks are the same. I will say however that the judges do an amazing job of duplicating damage on each of the cars used in the competition.

The competition was very steep again this year but as usual Brian did an excellent job and went the extra mile to bring home the gold. Congratulations Brian! Congratulations to all of the rest of the contestants as well. You all did an amazing job.
