Hello All,

I have been reading this forum and have learned tremendous amounts of info already. I apologize if I post questions or topics that have already been covered, but I cannot read every post even though I am trying> .

My new question is this:

Has anyone out there tried hiring one or two or three sales people to walk the neighborhoods, parking lots, business parks, etc....to set-up the WSR and HLR appointments for you. I have read a post by Candyman about him training an employee only to have that employee leave to start his own business....Im thinking that if I hire a salesman or woman or two, I will have more time to do the repairs because I wont have to do the sales, and I wont be breeding competition because I wont be showing anyone else how to do the procedures....just a thought. As always, your comments are greatly appreciated.

Good Morning Dnkies! That could be very expensive. Maybe its just me, but I prefer to do the sells. Referrals normally come from family members or friends of customers I have done work for. I still call to close the deal and set the appointment. When a person is ready to buy , they generally want it now. If you wait you may lose them for several reasons. How will 2 or more sales people know when to book your appointment? Will you have to play phone tag to schedule or resale the appointment. Who can sell your service better than you and can answer all their questions. If its phone numbers you want, there are companies that will provide that at a fee. Build a rapport with your local detailing shops and anyone that will pass out your card. Offer them a finders fee, for anyone they refer that you actually do work for. That way you are getting a better return on your investment. Referals and Repeat customers are my bread and butter. Flyers & face - to - face leads come after that. I've added something new to my list of lead generation. Word of mouth, by customers that I have done work for, or from people that have wittnessed me do a HLR or WSR. I have discovered a few things this past year. Most people are not aware that Headlights can be restored or windshields could be repaired. I have 3 windshield replacement shops in my area that now offer repair Word was getting out that I could do repairs and they added the service after I started my radio ads. Now two of the three shops advertize daily in the local paper that they now do Mobile Repair & Replace windshields. Prior to this a customer had to take their vehicle to them. They have approached me for referals, yet I never get anything from them. I do sometimes get a call from out of town WSR shops such as Safelite or Glass Master. Trial and error can be exhausting and costly. Look at some of the past post and it could lead you into a better direction. Iam always trying new ways to generate a lead without costing me an arm or leg. Others that have done this longer may have other options for you to try. Have a good day.
