hello everyone, my name is justin and this is my 1st post. I am in the proccess of starting my own windshield repair business. I have been doing windshield repairs for about 2 years now and I feel like the time has come for me to venture out on my own. Any advice would very much appreciated. I am only 27 and dont have alot of business experience but i have worked the office side of the glass business for 2 years also.
The type of repairs i will be doing is tent repair. I have been doing about 10 events a month with the most chips being fixed was 95 chips.

what i am wondering is what kind of liscences do i need to start up and what do i need to do to bill the insurance companies.

I also need to buy my own tools and am wondering what i should get. I currently use one with a hand pump and am not very familiar with the other methods. I would preffer to use what i am using now and dont see any reason to change. I imagine that mine is not too expensive and works well. any imput on these subjects would be very helpful. Im sure i will have more questions so i am glad i found this place. SORRY for the long post

Did you do 95 repairs in one day or is that a month, there are lots of reasons not to use hand pump equipment.

A lot of discussion time on this forum have been spent on the merits of hand held pump systems.

With a hydraulic system you are not forcing the resin into the break by building up air pressure behind it. This air pressure will force some of itself into the resin causing more shrinkage etc. as the resin cures.

The simplicity of the Delta or any other hydraulic system means there are less parts to worry about and more accurate control over resin flow etc.

I do still use a hand vaccuum pump on some breaks to help speed along the repair, but never to force the resin in with.

Yes I have used both types of systems and have trained people to use both, but my personal prefference is with the hydraulic system every time.
