I am glad that works for you. There are so many different ways of doing things.
My reasoning is that friends and relatives are unlikely to be over critical of a free repair and the primary purpose of WSR is to stop the damage from spreading.
I feel that an installed windshield behaves differently than a piece of practice glass on a bench and the chips that one encounters out in the world are more varied and present different challenges.

So ssbogger, did you get a new piece of practice glass and do an A/B comparison? How did that work for you? If you didn't do an A/B comparison, why not?

Never did get another piece of glass. I did however do 5 repairs on 3 different vehicles and none had this issue so maybe it is my practice glass?

It may or may not be the reason, but deductive reasoning would point to that.
