There were only three winners and Lee Simms, who owns a Superglass Windshield Repair franchise in Bedford, Texas, was recognized with an innovation award for utilizing custom floors mats in the vehicle and for providing the customer with breast cancer awareness materials in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I was told that the results were so close they had go to the ROLAG written test to determine the winner.
Big round of applause to all competitors. With any contest there has to be winners and losers but at the level all these competitors are at the difference between the two is very minimal. All competitors demonstrated they have the qualities of true professionals and allowed themselves to be judged on them. You are part of a very small elite group and represented this industry well. Great job guys!
Congratulations to Randy, Brandon and Greg, for your victory and recognition of your skills. Also congratulations to every competitor for stepping up and competing.
Hopefully, win or lose, the industry is well served by the exhibition of the very best practices of a Repair Technician. The WRO has caused many best practices to be created, refined and then passed on to competitors and spectators alike. That is a great value to the growth of windshield repair and if every Technician followed the methods of the WRO contestants, the windshield repair industry would be viewed as very professional.
It takes a lot of guts to plan for, prepare for and take part in the event. My hat is off to all who compete and to those who worked hard to make the event successful.
