Good Lord, there's that "trained monkey" comment again! I gave my thoughts on that a couple years ago, not going there again. However, I would like to know about the "free money". Where can I get some of that!

The point is that anyone can learn to do repairs it takes no special abilities ie being mechanicly inclined etc. A little time and practice and you can do WR that is why it is so atractive to many. The hard part is finding a way to sell WR and sell yourself this is where most fail.Properly Trained techs can do repairs finding something to do is another story

I agree. WR is a learned skill that can be mastered in a short amount of time. After you have mastered the skill (some learn faster than others) you must learn to sell your newly acquired skill. The selling of your skill in an ever changing market is where the real challenge now lies.

I think I'll train me a monkey to do my sales calls. Who know's ?, Maybe he'll find so of that "free money" while he's out monkeyin' around!

Its Human nature to try to feel like you do something better than others and of course there are always the lazy people who cut corners
My point was simple a trained person from any walk of life can do repairs well. I guess some Missed the Trained part LOL
This is a really easy way to make a living but some try to make things harder than it needs to be

I think first and foremost this is a sales industry, although the quality of the repair is important, if you cannot sell it you are not going to get much practise.

I would completely disagree with the anyone can do sales bit, some guys just cannot handle rejection.
