CPR, so would you consider it a good bargain considering you get a UV light, drill mirror, case and other misc stuff? I plan on starting with the hotshot and then buying a Delta B300 as soon as I make money doing my first few repairs. I just feel I'll have a more complete kit that way, supply-wise.
Absolutely, I got past the practice stage with it and made over 1000.00 before I started looking for something better. You basically get a business in a box that can be easily upgraded. The only things upgraded were the injector, curing lamp and resin, it's alot easier to do when you are starting to make money.
Hi guys,
I have decided to buy the 20/20 from GT and it works great. I went to Durango, Co for training with my brother. Rory and Eric were great people. Eric is a tech and he is very helpful about the training. The training was for the whole day from 8-5pm, but I had to catch a plane at 6:00pm so I had to leave early. It didn't take me too long to know how to fix cracks and chips and I know almost all the tricks because I had done a lot of research before I came to training. So, it didn't take me too long to learn. I have a lot of confident and know how to fix now. Rory is very supportive and have good customer service. We had lunch together; Eric, Rory, my brother and me.
I am new to this business, but now I feel very confident about glass repair. If anyone is new to this business, I recommend get the free training from GT glass.
Many of my coworkers have their cars lined up for me to work on, and I am excited to start.
Thanks everyone in this forum; you are very helpful and thanks Deltakits for setting up this forum.

Even though I am not personally familiar with the hot shot, I am glad you decided on the 20/20 system instead. I started in windshield repair with secondhand equipment that was probably the cheapest stuff available ... but what did I know? I didnt know I was going to be making a real business of it. But even with that junk I learned to do very good repairs, mainly on account of forums like this, as well as the very generous supply companies that sent free information and samples. Then I went to Durango, not intending to purchase a new system (although I did want to try out their equipment), but to take advantage of their free training. And they did not pressure me into purchasing anything from them. I was already their resin customer on account of their acid-free resins. My husband went with me to Durango because he wanted to fish the Animos River while I was in training, but he did spend about an hour at GT with me, and it was my hubby who convinced me to ditch the old stuff and get some professional tools. I also recommend their training. It is free to anyone regardless what system they have, and there is no pressure to change to their products, even though they do demonstrate their system and give you hands-on introduction to it. When I went, I took my own system with me, and that is actually what I was trained with. Turns out, in my case, since I had been doing repairs for more than a year by then, that I wasnt actually a beginner, and didnt really need to be 'trained' so much as 'untrained' in some of the practices that I had learned from my first teacher.
I have said this before, though, and I will say it again. Glass Technology has really good equipment and good technical support, and I am not sorry that I purchased their products. However, they were not the only system I looked at. I seriously considered Delta and one other. The final decision came down to the fact that Durango was within driving distance from where I live and my husband was eager to fish the river. Had we lived closer to Delta, that might be the system I would have purchased. I think I could be just as happy with either one.
The system is only about 25% of doing good repairs (in my opinion). The rest is in how well you learn to use the system and how diligent you are to learn what a good repair looks like and strive to achieve the best repair possible. Then you have to market yourself and live up to whatever promises you make. I wish you success with this wonderful business.

Resin not sticking/curing
Gold Star, am I correct in reading that GT will provide me with training for free even if I do not purchase their kit?
