That is a very good point and one of the reasons we were reluctant to use a liquid or paste polish. We have spent the past several years testing various polishes that are currently on the market so we could answer that question with confidence.
We have not experienced any peeling due to polishing the lens prior to applying a coating as long as the polish does not contain wax silicone or petroleum. I think this can be attributed to the porosity of the polycarbonate compared to paint. While we cannot guarantee the compatibility of any polish we don't sell, we know some of our customers have been using certain polishes successfully, prior to coating, for years.
