my question is when you get a ins. call book app. drive what ever 15-40 minutes and it is a surface chip. what do you guys do. remember they have called they ins. co. spoke with a csr and thaen you or i was called

I always call the insured and try to determine the severity of the damage.

If I have a call and I find its a chip rather than a break I notify the insurance company. You are not suppose to fixem. I've learned to probe while on the phone with a client. I tell the driver and even after they talk to the insurance company its almost always denied. I've only had two that this has been an issue. I repaired those at no charge and gave them my business card. I was already on site and it only takes a few minutes to make a new customer, by doing a good deed.

If the insurance declined then why not bill the customer direct, it has cost you to get the in both time and money. I am not keen on freebie's I feel it devalues our trade.
