Thanks guys. That was a big help. I will start looking this week to see what I can fine. I have a flee market in my area and the cost is about $30 for a Fri-Sat-Sun 10-5 pm set up. I passed out business cards last week with a color flyer showing 2 vehicles before & after photos. If I had a power source in the parking lot, I could have performed several HL resorations. None of the ones I spoke with have called yet. I should have got phone numbers. They had cell phones and were young mexican couples. I think on the spot repairs could have been performed while I had their attention. Live and learn. I was trying to get information out to the public and check out the flow of traffic before I commit my self. live and learn. Booth operators said they seem to have basicly the same people week after week, and more people during the fall and winter. I could do HL's while customers browse inside the warehouse. Have a good week guys!

works great no need to look for outlet and can get away from other cars and avoid spraying them with buffer.

Do you have to run your engine with this setup? Which tools do you use?

Thanks

I just got my kit with the red buffer, it seems to run OK with a 750 watt inverter clamped to the battery. I did both headlights on a 2000 Venture and the vehicle still started without any hesitation.

Im not currently using the Metabo or the Delta Kits HL Restoration System, Yet it is to come soon!

However Id like to chime in on this one.

With my Auto Detailing services we use to use a Generator 1500 Watt, Gasoline this thing was a beast and very loud, very loud again!

After about 2 years of use It did break on me but the ending of this story is that we were harrased by the locals and eventually the E.P.A. Claims that it created too much smog! It was killing the Air we breath!

Immediately I yanked it out of the truck and converted to using electrical sources from then on out. I had another auto reconditioning individual tell me this and it struck a light bulb! "Why spend that money for off road fuel when people will be more than happy to let you use thier electricity" Made sense and still does.

In fact when we use to use our generator we would always get told "My electric outlet is over there" from the customer,

If I had no other choice but to purchase another generator I wouldnt be greedy and buy a $500.00. I would spend the money and pay $1,000.00 or $1,500.00 for one. In fact Honda makes a generator that is larger than the one I had, Low Emissions, Light Weight and much more quiter than my recent puppy!

JMHO!

I realize that this thread is a bit old, but I just wanted to see if anyone has though about cordless tools.

You could probably do away with the generator, the inverter, and extension cord.

I have polished out some headlights before (in addition to sanding) using the DeWalt 18-Volt Cordless 3/8" Right Angle Drill/Driver and an adapter for a backing pad with a 3" foam pad.

I have a few 18v batteries pre-charged and ready to go. I also use this tool for the hard to reach areas and small spots that need a little touch up (for auto detailing).

The Hitachi WH10DCLP4 10.8 Volt Right Angle Drill/Driver has a higher no-load speed of 0-2,100 RPMs, and it is cordless which will be more convenient for mobile operators.

A decent inverter can be had for about $50 that will also do the job as a backup for your corded tools.
