Hi again,
Starting out doing WS chip / crack repairs, what prices do you members charge? What prices would you Pros suggest?
Thanks in advance!

I established my pricing by calling local shops and seeing what they charged so I would be competitive but not under cutting the local market.

Semper Fi when calling these other shops did you let them know you were going to be there competition? Did you just simply ask how much they charge (asking in terms you needed work done).

I asked as if I was a potential customer. I did not mention that I was going to be competing with them.

I feel one should always charge more than what insurance pays. It doesn't make sense to charge less and would be awkward to have the customer see you put more on the invoice for insurance than you quoted them cash. I have had a few people say there used to be a guy who did 20.00 cash repairs. Key word is used to be.

I agree 100%. If everyone had that same thought process most would be making a lot more money. Too many windshield repair technicians compete on price only rather than focusing on the quality of their work, customer service, and sales/marketing skills.

I recently called Safelite for a customer to compare chip repair costs on a vehicle and was quoted $107.00. My customer was thrilled to pay me $60 after that.

Semper that is exactly what happens to me quite a bit being I am located directly across the street from Safelite. My customers also said over 100 maybe 60 is too little but it works for me. I do charge 15 each additional so long as done at the same time. Semper sounds like you took the plunge I hope you enjoy it as much as I do what model did you go with Fleet Tent etc I am always curious of what others newer to this like me are trying and learning from each other.

I do it part time word of mouth right now because I am working 50- 60 hours at a regular job. I hope to go with fleets and dealership and forego the tent if possible. I have difficulty waiting for customers I rather go out and get them.
