Black towels? Bill.

I have used them too but usually white ones. Don't they, black towels, absorb too much heat?

I use the DK shield. I dont use a dome. I sometimes will use a thick, Green or Purple, Hand towel to cover the bridge and my tray with resin. I always use a heavy long Green beach towel to protect the car while working on it. I discovered at the begining not to use that rubber/foam hood cover. The towels work great and its soft. Wont scratch the hood. Folds nicely. I throw them in the wash with tide & fabric softner when they need it. Works for me.

Shield for me, the towels work though but not quite as good as shown by tests I carried out.

Until they blow off halfway througha repair, yep been there and done that. On a windy sunny day I will use a combination of shield and towel, that unwanted UV is not going to get between myself and a quality repair.

Get you some suction cups and make your own any size you want.

I have the Delta Dome, UV protector (amber colored, and a blue UV protector from Glass Technology. Use all three. All three are conversation starters. Towels don't look professional. MO

I use Liquid resins uv shield. It’s a little larger at 21”x21” and cost 25.00. I have used the blue uv shield from Glass Technology but didn’t like the fact that the back side of the suction cups have exposed bolts and nuts. Always afraid they could scratch the paint if not careful with it.

A simple flat screen (plastic) that suction cups to the windshield works very well. Small, light, fast and puts the break in complete shade.
