How Eco-Friendly Is Your Business?

Post by Eco Steam »

Figured i have not noticed a thread like this before, so now is as good as any...

Windshield repair is eco-friendly because it keeps glass out of landfills, so repairing is the way to go if it can be done, we all understand this concept.

So, what else does your business offer Eco-friendly wise?

Additional services?

Materials you use?

Vehicle you drive?

Lets get a good conversation going for the community....

I will start:

I converted my detailing, WSR & HLR biz to Eco about 1 month ago. I changed my name, went from a v8 van that got 10 to 13 to the gallon that cost me $120 to fill up with prices at roughly $3.50 a gallon, now I'm in a ford transit van with a 4 cylinder that cost me less than $50 to fill up and I get roughly 350 miles to the tank....got rid of pressure washer, water tank, huge generator, carpet cleaner and about 70-80% of all chemicals I was using, everything is now green and eco friendly. I use the optima steam to detail with now, this system is AWESOME!

How about you?

I have never used a car that does less than 50 mpg for work, seems to defeat the object to me as we are trying to make money not spend it. Never done the detailing bit as that is a skill I have never wanted to go for, much rather do 3 or more for glass repairs in the time it would take me to clean a car. I do however do PDR which keeps the car out of bodyshops so that is a also green.

Screenman, evidently there are more fuel efficient cars over there than we have in the States. Here you are hard pressed to find a car that gets over 50mpg. There are some but there aren't many. Hybrids do purty good but they are so expensive that new studies show that it would take years and years (10 years and up) to get your return on investment. But, I guess if someone is very concerned about the atmosphere then they are willing to use their checkbook to prove it.
