Senate bill referees small business vs. Safelite complaint

I recommend people to use the link below and read the article. It is good reading and indeed, good news too. You may even leave your own comment.
I feel that it is usefull to leave a comment and express how you feel and what you experience in your own day-to-day operations.

Us joining together in the media is more effective than just a comment here on the board. Many folks are unhappy with what is going on in our trade, understandably so, and often leave comments here on the board. That's just fine, but nothing will ever change, it lacks ''power''.
The problem with the comments on this board is: senators and reporters/media networks don't come here to read what you experience and think.

The more we speak up, the more they will take us serious.... If Safelite was to just go back to a 3rd party dispatcher ONLY, there would not be so many problems with us independents just trying to make a living.

For the ones we are aware of, they are scamming their way to the top! This is another part of the industry that needs to be cleansed! Let's focus on one at a time though :)

SeeClearly, I hope you realize that your post is an overgeneralized cheap shot. With all the important issues that bear serious consideration, it not at all helpful to throw gas on the fire with such kneejerk postings.

I've actually seen a decline in car wash and mall setups this last year in my area. What is causing this I can't say for sure. Are the consumers getting smarter with these operations or are the TPA's getting tougher or a combination of both?

What I can say is when I have a customer and call in for authorization for repair through Safelite, I more often then not I'm told coverage can not be verified. In that situation I'll repair it anyway with signed invoice (sounds like a gamble) but haven't
lost on one yet.

Of the people I know doing car washes and auto service lanes, they're not having any steering problems at all. I think because they call in for the referral with the customer just like I and most of everyone else here does in the field.

Chiparoo:

I apologize if you took offense to my posting. I am pretty sure in my tenure here on the forum, I have always respected poeple's opinion which is was just that. Where we are, these companies are a dime a dozen and do nasty work at best while ripping off the consumers and the insurance industries. So IMO, they suck. Plain and simple.

In saying that though, not all of them are bad. Some actually do a good job and are legit businesses. That is good for them and good for our industry. If you are one of them, great for you.

Lastly, I never post hostile feelings nor do I post knee-jerk reactions. I am a person who thinks before saying things to make sure I have everything in order, especially my facts. If others do not like what I have to offer up, they should move onto the next post. Too many times people use this forum as a arguing session, and for me, I have better things to do with my time. Enough said from me. Have a great day! :)

What amazes me is that people appear to discuss ''anything'' here.
Or better...''anything but''.
There's so many people complaining about networks, insurance rates, steering and all that.
But when they are given a proper opportunity.... they all seem to ''steer'' away from the subject and start -silly enough- a whole new discussion within the current subject. People rather worry about stupid simple issues, such as the lay-out of an invoice or work-order instead of ''real problems''.

People are funny. jmho

Now, can we go back on topic? Please?

It is a valid complaint that the folks paid to handle claims also own a company that does the work
As far as the d%&$ A·" comment about the Car Wash or Mall guys get a grip there are a lot of guys out there earning good livings doing quality repairs out of Carwashes Of course some are shifty as are some people in any industry :? I dont earn my living in a Carwash or Mall that doesnt somehow make me better than those that do everyone has thier own source of customers get over it
