How do you reach the middle of a 4x4 windshield?

i thought about getting one of those truck steps that go on the tire.

Open the door all the way and stand in the doorway. It still takes a bit a stretching but it can be reached. This way you are never leaning over a painted surface. It also helps to be tall !!!!

Amen tk4! I carry a step-stool with me, but being 6'2' does help... weighing 50 lbs less would be nice though!

The ones I have trouble with are the huge tractor trailer trucks.... I open the hood, climb like a monkey and am always worried I will step on the wrong thing.

Back in the day, I kept a 4' ladder with me cause I was doing some big rigs, etc. Now I only have a 2' alum ladder, which gets the job done. They are very light and built solid. It's a big small for working on a big 4x4 truck up by the mirror, but those are rare and I get by ok. If you are young and agile enough, you can sometimes stand on the front tire, along with use of a small ladder.

Maybe grow a few inches I havnt ever had problems I carry a small 2 step in the car but seldom use it maybe its the 6ft4 with extra long arms and no beer belly to get in the way that is my secret lol
