Ring doesn't look all that bad...from viewing this it appears he trapped some air in pit while capping. It happens!
He will learn how to avoid this as time passes.
Actually to me it looks like someone drilled to the lamination and left it on pressure to long and also did a bad pit filler.... I do not know if that is what I am to be looking at. If so, I had never put a name on it. I do see this all over looking at other jobs.
I was thinking the term "pressure ring", I thought I was going to be seeing a big ring around the repair....
