If your in a bind you can use overhead projector sheets found at any local office supply. I've used them before and never experienced any problems. HTH

Clear View brand Standard Presentation covers. Get em at office depot or staples or equivalent. Comes in a twenty-five pack. Standard paper size - 8 1/2" x 11". Will last almost a lifetime. Well under ten bucks (I think, but then it's been at least half a lifetime since I had to buy another pack so I might be having a senior moment).

Sorry my brain veiws things differant.
If you have a friend that works anyplace that has the Mylar sheets, just ask them for one. They will be more than willing to give you one sheet. Better than sitting on a box you will never use up in ten life times.
OOOOH, I know this is going to hurt for this post.

never mind,,, some of you may need to go to K-mart and buy a sense of humor.
Reading some of this does make one laugh to a point.
Someone is going to buy a pack of 25 @ 10.00 for 2 or 3 sheet that will last a life time..
Again, Never mind...

Re: Which stores sell Mylar around town?
Well, ok maybe I was exaggerating just a tad when I said "last you a lifetime". I realize it may depend on whose lifetime it is, but hey, let's let our fingers do the walking and then do the math, ok? I looked up five national WSR brands and logged onto their catalogs.
1. 24 3" film tabs: $5.00
2. 20 "strips" : $6.00
3. 100 1.375"x1.375" curing tabs: $10.00
4. 25 1"x8" cure tabs: $10.45
5. 20 1"x3" cure tabs: $9.00
Ok. Let's set a benchmark price. I suggested 25 report covers (maybe mylar, maybe not, but excellent UV penetration) for under ten dollars, but for the sake of a benchmark price, let's say $10.00. That pencils out to forty cents per sheet. A sheet measures roughly 8.75"x11.25". Now let's take the 100 tabs for $10.00 or ten cents per. You can get about 48 of those tabs from one report cover sheet or about .8333 cents per tab. The other four exaamples cost significantly more per tab. Practice your arithmetic by working out the values for the other four. That's your homework assignment .
Now although your life expectancy is vastly greater than mine, you may just go through every one of those 25 sheets by the time you retire from WSR, assuming that you perform more than 2 or three repairs a year. Here are a few suggestions for the leftovers:
1. Write a report or two and cover It(them).
2. Cut a bunch of cure tabs and resell them - hey! a new revenue source!
3. Pass along whatever you don't need to all those friends of yours who have all those extra mylar sheets lying around that they can't find a use for so they just give them to you to use for cure tabs - I know we all have dozens of friends like that, don't we? And a bright guy like you should be able to come up with numerous additonal uses that a brain-addled geezer like me could only hope to invent.
Cheers;

Re: Which stores sell Mylar around town?
I tried buying sheets of Mylar years ago, for the saving I considered it a complete waste of time and effort. I now buy the small tabs from Delta and use them, nice and neat and tidy.I have never been one for trying to save a few cents I would much rather spend my time making a few dollars. I found that the self cut one's tended to lift more at the edges when used making for a pit that was harder to scrape, even though I used a cutter and not scissors. I use each Delta tab about 5 or more times and the cost is not worth talking about.
That aside I also like to help my suppliers by being loyal to them, after all they are the one's spending on research and development to push things forward.
