I am having a small problem reading your Freq. asked Q.'s

QUOTE
Q: How do I know if the company I select provides quality workmanship and service?
a.Delta Kits certified windshield repair technicians have a Delta Kits Certification logo that appears next to their business name. Delta Kits certified technicians are trained to the ANSI/NGA R1.1-207, Repair of Laminated Automotive Glass Standard (ROLAGS), and have completed the Delta Kits certification course that includes hands-on windshield repair experience, a practical assessment, and a written examination. While not a guarantee that the technician will perform quality workmanship, a Delta Kits certification does ensure that the technician has received proper training and has demonstrated the ability to perform quality workmanship. In addition, auto glass repair technicians are encouraged to list experience, training, and other relevant certifications in their profiles.

Be sure to review the business profiles for technicians to see if there’s been any feedback left for them. Their former customers have the opportunity to leave written feedback and rate that business so you can see what kinds of experiences other customers had.
Delta Kits, Inc. does not offer certification courses for auto glass replacement. However, auto glass replacement companies are encouraged to list their experience, training, and certifications.

Reading this, If there is a Delta cert. Tech in the same town as a other manufactor user, I can see Delta kits will get the upper hand....... This is not equal to me...
I can see this is not a tool for us all to use equaly. I have 20 yr's background doing repairs only. Just because someone has gone through your class does not mean they are going to be a better shop to go to.... As I tell others," My worst repair looks better than most companies best repair."

I know this is your site to help promote the Delta Kits name, and Delta Kits cert. users..
I know I do not have to use your site. But PLEASE give everyone an equal plug if you want us on your site...This is not fair as I see it....

Just my .02 worth....

Thanks for the candid feedback Don. My original thought was that windshieldreferral.com was to be for Delta Kits customers only and I felt that it made sense to give top billing to those customers who had taken the time and spent the money to get training and certification with our equipment. We have seen Delta Kits certified technicians do quality repairs, but we have not seen our other customers do any repairs in most instances. In short, I thought that by giving an advantage to those who are properly trained to the ROLAGS standard, Delta Kits was promoting higher industry standards. Frankly my goal is still to raise the bar for quality in the windshield repair industry, which should in turn result in better returns for all serious windshield repair technicians, and I still believe training and certification plays a key part in achieving that goal.

However, I was not thinking about how non-Delta Kits users would feel about this when we launched windshieldreferral.com, so you have given me something to ponder over. I see plenty of experienced technicians who do terrible repairs, so frankly your 20 years of experience means little to me, which is why we developed the star rating for the site. Hopefully consumers will rate their experience with the windshield repair professionals registered on windshieldreferral.com, in which case that will likely become the predominate indicator of the quality of service one can expect from that technician, but in the beginning you are correct, Delta Kits certified technicians may have a slight advantage over non-certified technicians living in the same part of the same town.

I will consider modifying the language a bit, but in the mean time let me remind you that you do have an opportunity to list your 20 years of experience and any training and/or certifications that you feel will give you an advantage over your competitors listed on windshieldreferral.com. Of course you do always have the option of not registering your business on the site if you feel there is no benefit to you, but to me that is like turning away a free yellow pages ad because someone else has a bigger ad. It's still a free ad and any ad is better than no ad. Heck, you may not even have a Delta Kits certified technician anywhere near you! Whatever your decision you'll get no pressure from me.

Thanks again. That's really good food for thought and exactly the kind of feedback that will help us improve the site for you and other windshield repair technicians.

I have already ran my add, Danny had to get some flaws fixed aready that was in your site.

Another person asked if we can post links in our add. I would like to use links from other add services like yahoo , google or any other site we have already been using to show our feed back to help the customer makeup their minds....
I sent a link to my site to Danny as he was finding the flaw in your site that needed fixing that I use on Yahoo that may help you set your site up.
Right now your site is verry generic, but time will expand it hopefully like the other sites.

Again, I am using every avenue to set me above the rest in my area. even though there is no one else in my city,, He will come in soon though as he see's me running an add here..

Here's an idea for the new site: Can we remove where it says Certifications N/A for those who don't have certifications yet? For those that do it could be left as is. I just think that having the word Certification followed by a "N/A" or a blank space can give the impression of an inferior company listing. When I, for example, get certified then the word "Certified" followed by Delta Kits or whichever certification could be added. Until then I think just the "Business Type" should be there and nothing else. I hope I am being clear. Anyway, I think this would represent the site and all of us in a more professonal way and not like some of us are lacking in credentials. Other than that, I really like and appreciate the site.

Thank you, Ricardo

Delta Kits desire to promote this industry and technicians across the nation to assist the general public, through this referral site, proves once again your selfless commitment to everyone. Great site!

I realize you are still working oout the kinks but it would be nice if possible for additional certs and possibly awards to help you stand out from the next tech.

Thanks for all the input guys, and also for the kind words. I sure hope you are e-mailing these suggestions to info@windshieldreferral.com. As I mentioned in my original post, discussion on this forum is fine, but e-mails will get priority. The primary moderators of this forum are not the people responsible for getting changes made to the windshieldreferral.com website.

We have thought a lot about adding a place for other certifications such as NGA, NWRA, or even our competitor's certifications, but so far we have not figured out a way to verify those certifications, and more importantly, we cannot verify that the hands on training (if any) required to get these certifications, was sufficient to ensure the technician has the ability to do quality repairs with the equipment they are using. We will continue working on this issue, but it is likely to be awhile before we find a solution that will make everyone happy.

Again, you are welcome to add additional information about your business, including your other certifications, training, etc.

So how is windshieldreferral.com being marketed? Is it getting any traffic yet? Has anyone gotten any work from being listed on the site?
